As part of Charles & Keith campaign #CHARLESKEITHCURATES, fashionisto Kelbin Lei has have a chance to show off his outstanding creativity.
In line with the overarching idea of exploring creative processes for Spring/Summer 2017, CHARLES & KEITH launches #CHARLESKEITHCURATES, a digital campaign that seeks to document fashion through creativity. The campaign highlights the works of different individuals from all walks of life who inspire us with their artistry and techniques.
As part of the campaign, CHARLES & KEITH collaborates with Kelbin Lei in Vietnam on his interpretation of art meets fashion. Taking on duo roles as a stylist and designer, Kelbin Lei’s avant garde and high fashion styles gave him a reputation of being a creative and experimental individual.
Kelbin Lei has established himself in the creative industry as the go-to artist for an ultramodern approach to art. In this collaboration, Kelbin took on a futuristic take on his interpretation of Creative Processes. “My inspiration for CHARLES & KEITH is a bit Futuristic. Handwritten slogans on bags – I AM FUTURE, THE BIGGER THE BETTER. CHARLES & KEITH always has brilliant lookbooks which I like a lot, but never a Futuristic style. So when I saw the bag, I was very happy and came to this idea immediately. I conduct this idea by re-decorating the bag, thinking of the concept, mix & match with outfit and do the shooting.”
The collaboration debuted with the unique interpretations from artists – Grace Ciao, Charly Rodrigues, Krizia Chan and Sun Lee. Each artist collaboration takes an in-depth look at the processes taken to achieve a final piece of work through the discovery of perspectives, techiques and tools. The artworks can be viewed on charleskeith.com/curates, a microsite dedicated for the campaign.
The campaign also seeks to unearth the creativity that is inherent in everyone, customers are also encouraged to showcase their creativity through instagram with the hashtag #CHARLESKEITHCURATES. A creative cut-out is tipped in the Spring/Summer magazine, and customers may use them against the backdrop of their choices to create their own piece of fashion art. Submissions are not limited to only the cut-outs, as customers may submit their own illustrations, photography or animations that best represents what fashion means to them in the artistry they command. Submissions will be curated and featured on the microsite.
The campaign further extends to an exclusive in-store activation where shoppers in are invited to live customization by illustrators on tote bags to create a special one-of-a-kind wearable art.
