British fashion brand Karen Millen are excited to announce the launch of ‘The White Shirt Project’, a capsule collection of white shirts, re-imagined in our London atelier.
A closet classic
To celebrate the timeless appeal of this closet classic, we’ve created a capsule collection of white shirts for Spring/Summer ‘17, designed in our London atelier.
There are few wardrobe pieces more perennial than the white shirt. Whether you tuck it loosely into your favourite faded denims, style it nonchalantly over skinny leather leggings or work it with a pencil skirt and heels for your nine to five, there’s something so fresh and crisp about the white shirt that keeps fashion coming back for more.
Ruffles, volume, sleeves, pleats and pussybows; just a few of the details that reinvent this classic silhouette in our collection of impeccable white shirts. Exploring new-season proportions such as laid-back boyfriend shapes, oversized frills and body-sculpting designs, each clean and crisp piece has been designed and hand-crafted by our team of garment technicians and designers at our in-house atelier in east London.
Stand-out pieces include The Super Frill Shirt, a ruffled, super-feminine blouse with a pretty pussy-bow tie, and The Classic Twist Shirt, an oversized boyfriend shirt with a button-down back and tie sleeves.
Each unique shirt has been designed at our atelier based in the heart of London. They have been intricately crafted from premium cotton and airy, lightweight fabrics for a polished and super sharp finish.
Meet the Trailblazers
We’ve teamed up with three international fashion authorities to showcase our collection, creating a series of beautiful videos and photography in the world’s most fashion-forward cities with Parisian blogger Camille Charriere’; London-based presenter and chef Laura Jackson; and New York fashion and lifestyle writer Jeanne Grey of popular blog ‘Grey Layers’. Showing our clients how to style their white shirt, these fashion trailblazers have created video content and beautiful photography to illustrate their styling expertise.

A global launch
To support the launch, Karen Millen will host a series of workshops around the world. Each workshop will be hosted by a fashion influencer, who will offer shoppers advice on how to style their shirt with the latest trends. Customers can also opt to personalise their shirt.
A little known fact – Karen Millen’s journey began when our eponymous founder invested £100 in 1000 metres of white cotton and began crafting sleek white shirts for her friends. To celebrate the timeless appeal of this closet classic, we’ve created a capsule collection of white shirts for Spring/Summer ‘17, designed in our London atelier.
