Bella Hadid is the new face for Fall 2017 Accessories campaign of the Italian brand.
1) Tell us about working with a fashion photography legend, such as Steven Meisel. Do you have any memories or stories to tell? Is there a shot of the Max Mara Accessories campaign you like the most and why?
Working with a photographer like Steven Miesel is one of the most rewarding times. Not only has he been an idol of mine, but also an icon to the whole fashion industry. When you walk onto set it feels unlike any other set in the world. Every time I shoot with Steven it feels like the first. The nervousness, excitement, jitters and happiness will always be there every single time I work with him!
2) What do you think when you pose for a shooting or when you walk on the runway? What part of your inner self may not usually show through the photos?
What I have learned is to put many emotions into each photo you take. Whether that is happiness, sadness etc. I am starting to learn about using all different sides of yourself as well as becoming a new character every time.
3) Max Mara is both modern and classic, what do you think of it? Is it something you relate to? What do you like the most about this Italian fashion house? Do you have any personal memories related to this brand? What do you think of Italian fashion?
I think the most beautiful part about Max Mara is how classic and modern it is. Max Mara can relate to different age groups but also will always add an elegant aspect to your look. I love how the incredible quality will always make you feel and look your best.
4) You are the face of the FW17 Max Mara Accessories campaign. Are you in love with accessories? Is there an accessory you can’t go without? Bag? Glasses? Are you more a “glassaholic” or “bagaholic”? Please tell us how the perfect bag would be for you.
I love the accessories. I think they are so pairable with any look, whether that is for going out or having a casual day. I am both a glassaholic and bagaholic! I love accessorizing. My perfect bag would be small with a strap to be comfortable and versatile.
5) What is fashion for you? Do you have a personal fashion mantra?
Fashion for me is so much fun. In my opinion, fashion should allow you to express yourself and be / show your true self.
6) How long does it take for you to dress up in the morning and what do you start with? Is there anything that should always be in your wardrobe?
It usually takes me a short amount of time to get ready. I usually start with the pants that I will wear and work off of that. I think you should always have a major pair of glasses or purse to change up your look every day.
7) Social networks: pleasure or duty. What is the secret behind your photos? What part of your life you would never post on instagram?
Sometimes pleasure and sometimes duty. I love posting what I love and show the inside to my world. But I also like to keep my life private in some ways as well.
8) You’re one of the most admired fashion icon nowadays. Is there a stylish muse for you?
Thank you! I think that one of my best friends Jesse Jo Stark has an eye for the most incredible pieces in the world.
9) What is your personal rescue remedy when you’re tired or stressed? Is there a landscape which chills you out? What is the thing that you love doing the most? Your idea of happiness.
I love to light candles and buy flowers. I have sage in my apartment that I light when I need peace of mind or feel too stressed. I love being by the beach with my siblings and friends. Having lunch with my dad or riding horses with my mom. My idea of happiness is my family, friends, good food, hard work and love!
