The west coast’s wind is blowing

MAX&Co. is back with its SS17 Collection part II and the muse Olivia Palermo. The west coast cool-girl vibe lives on except this time, there is much more of a nod to the brands’ overall core aesthetic featuring feminine and preppy pieces with just a flourish of LA whimsy.

The eye-catching hot-house floral print is lustrious as it finds itself not only dancing across a-line shift dresses and flirty mini skirts in an almost spiralling effect but also kissed upon the Miss Juno bag in a 3D leather application, a first for the stunning series of ladylike handbags which was so successfully launched this Winter.

Even the overall palette finds itself ready to take on the warmer weather with gusto. Joyful and vibrant hues rich in saturated tones of coral and saffron, cornflower blue and sunshine yellow are seen in special occasion pieces like floor-sweeping fluid gowns made of envers satin, spectacular jacquards and must-have accessories yet are subtly balanced by a variety of neutral (but still bright) staples providing an endless amount of mixing and matching to be had. This precise color scheme combined with the relaxed silhouettes of loose fitted trousers and refined jumpsuits keeps the collection both modern and sophisticated with the ability to be worn long after the season is over.

Lastly, the Miss Juno handbags share the spotlight with another MAX&Co. accessory favorite; eyewear. Told in three stories, sunglasses and eyewear are found in everything from on-trend rounded metal and acetate frames to modern geometric cat-eyes and of course 60’s oversized shapes. Seen in the pictures above, they keep within the retro-inspired feel of the brand yet are inventive enough to have us clearing space to add them to our collection.
