Puma x Roland – feel the EDM beat in leopard style

Another precious collaboration from Puma for sneaker-head.

Puma is mostly loved by the way the brand chooses to partner with the world’s most influential and creative brands, individuals, and institutions that push culture forward through innovation in design, style, technology, and more.

This time, Puma and Roland’s new project is a story of reinvention. Being famous as a professional musical instruments brand of Japan, Roland has never let us down in terms of sounds in general and creating music in particular. If Puma has become a lengend with iconic suede sneakers, then Roland is already a statue with a global fever called TR 808 – the drum machine that attracts people because of not only their alluring sound but also the inspirational hardware design. Thanks to the two brand’s credentials, when Puma officially confirms there is a special collection with a mark of Roland TR-808, sneaker-heads have shown an endless enthusiastism.

This season, the drum machine is being paired with another vintage ’80s design. Puma’s RS-0, or “Running System” sneaker, is being brought back to life with distinct detailing from Roland’s TR-808 drum machine.

The shoes feature the heritage instrument’s yellow-to-red gradient in place of Puma’s signature wave design, metallic silver laces and a black backdrop added to a silhouette with plenty of retro-futurist flair.

The RS-100 Roland, however, features a look and feel closely related to the original. The sneaker features a vibrant upper, with a bright orange, suede Formstrip with white reflective edges.

Both RS-0 and RS-100 include heel printing which reads, “Rhythm Composer TR-808, Computer Controlled”. Not only have a priceless design, Puma x Roland also inherits the superior function of foot protection thanks to premium rubber sole; besides, lightweight leather also allows you to move more easily and actively.

RS-0 and RS-100 will be officially launched on 8th August at all Puma’s stores to remind us of the iconic drum machine TR-808 of Roland.
