HCM – Business Intelligence Manager

The BI Manager is responsible for leading the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. The candidate manages a team of analysts and developers who facilitate business intelligence processes and procedures development and implementation.

I. Job Description:

· Business requirement

o Interview end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance

o Work with analysts and developers to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications and documentation

o Ensure the proposed implementation scales and serves a long-term business need

o Ensure the quality of the delivered projects and the adoption of the completed projects by the business users

· Business project management

o Work with multiple business constituencies, effectively manage their expectations, estimate projects, and establish priorities

o Maintain a BI roadmap, set BI-weekly sprints, communicate to business constituencies the content and status of sprints

o Drive the completion of projects within the established scope and within the agreed SLAs, while simultaneously planning for and managing unknown future BI requirements in a dynamic environment

o Sell, evangelize, and motivate business users to contribute time to the effort, and constantly reinforce the role of BI in the business

· Data architecture

o Define and manage the data structures required to support the company

o Represent the data so it can be understood uniformly throughout the company

o Ensure up to date documentation of the data structures / tables / fields

· ETL architecture

o Determine the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it to the BI

o Designs and implement the infrastructure used by ETL specialists

o Establish and enforce technical standards for deliverables of projects

· Human resources

o Drive consistency and high standards across projects and people

o Hire, manage and train a team of analysts and developers

Required experience/ Skill detail

·         Education & experience

o   Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Systems or Finance/Accounting

o   5+ years related experience with progressive growth in responsibility and scope

o   Leadership of a BI or software development team

·         Specific knowledge

o   Advanced data visualization tool knowledge (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

o   BI practices and concepts, data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing

o   Experience with SQL Server Reporting and SSIS (Power BI preferred)

·         Other requirements

o   Solid understanding of both the business and the technical aspects of BI

o   Demonstrated ability to turn end-user requirements into actionable tools and insights

o   Proficiency in providing support and training for BI solutions and BI toolsets

o   Project management skills, and advanced understanding of the full reporting delivery life cycle, from requirements definition to report development and testing required
