4 Ways To Wear The Summer Scarf

Luxe silks, statement prints, easy-breezy shapes: summer scarves are back. Whether tied around your bag or wrapped in your hair, we show you four new ways to wear the ultimate style classic with our latest street style edit.

1. The Wrist Wrap
The wrist wrap has long been a favourite with the fash pack, with the likes of it-girl Olivia Palermo and blogger Leandra Medine from The Man Repeller taking on the trend. Whether styled for work or chill-out weekends, or even worn for a night out (think cami dresses and bikers), the wrist wrap adds a cool twist to any get-up – and it’s a look we can totally get on board with. Choose a square scarf or neckerchief in a stand-out print, wrap it around your wrist and secure with a knot – simple as that.

2. The Bag Tie
The easiest way to update your spring bag? Tie a scarf around the straps. Punchy prints and over-sized proportions have the power to transform a down-sized style, so pick pow-wow florals and knot it once to achieve a long, swishy drape. Pair it with Breton stripes and washed blue denim for a fresh take on Parisian cool.

3. The Bun Wrap
Along with ‘90s-style scrunchies and festival-ready flower garlands, scarves offer a fun, fresh way to pep up your top-knot. Simply tie your hair up into a ponytail, twist it into a bun and hold it in place with a hair-tie and grips. Next, wrap it in a scarf (we think square-shaped styles work best) and finish it off with a knot – or, if you’re feeling extra-fancy – an XXL bow with serious retro vibes.

4. The Belt Knot
No belt? No problem. Grab a long silk scarf and pull it through the belt loops of your jeans, choosing a clashing print for extra stand-out appeal. Boyfriend jeans are the denims of choice here, with relaxed shapes and distressed textures adding to is effortless, chuck-on feel.
